Notice: Making Tax Digital, first deadline 7 August 2026

Making Tax Digital for Income Tax became law on 6 April 2026. If you are a sole trader or landlord with income over £50,000, HMRC now expects your figures every quarter, filed through approved software, not once a year. The first quarterly deadline ever is 7 August 2026. Most of the people it applies to have not heard of it.

If you are unsure whether it applies to you, write to us on WhatsApp. The answer takes two minutes and costs nothing.

For existing clients

Please write to your dedicated accountant’s WhatsApp contact, or to your dedicated customer email address. We do not provide an online service log-in. All communication and files are available only within these channels.

Why Nevis exists

The UK tax code runs to more than 20,000 pages, and it changes every year. Most people doing their own return claim what they can remember and round in HMRC’s favour when they are not sure. HMRC will never write to tell you that you overpaid.

Nevis exists to do the careful reading for you. Three things we believe:

  1. Many sole traders overpay. Not through dishonesty, but through caution, and through nobody ever having looked.
  2. The rules are public. Every allowance we claim is written in HMRC’s own manuals. Reading them carefully is the whole job.
  3. Plain English. You talk to us on WhatsApp or by email, without appointments or jargon.

Our clients are sole traders, landlords, and small business owners across the United Kingdom. Every client has a dedicated accountant they can write to directly, and every report is reviewed by a UK-qualified accountant before it is sent.

For new clients we begin with a free accounting audit: a written review of your position. If your taxes are in good order, the report will say so.

For new clients: the free accounting audit

  1. Write to us on WhatsApp at +44 7893 936039 and explain your situation.
  2. We review your options. We look at all the allowances and reliefs that might apply to you, not just the most common ones, and present our findings: for example, use of home as office and similar, with an approximate figure for how much you could save.
  3. If you are satisfied, you join. Only then do we ask you to commit to our £199 per year flat plan, which includes every quarterly Making Tax Digital filing, your annual return, every HMRC letter, and your questions through the year. No hourly billing. All done online.

If the audit does not find you at least the fee, we will say so and suggest you do not join.

Our promises on your data. These apply from your very first message, before any agreement is signed. That is your protection while you decide:
